The BEST PLACES editorial staff headquartered in Munich’s Lehel. Once a year it is the ringing of the brewery horses that wakes us up in the early morning hours. The costume groups (Bavarian: „Trachtler“) come from all over Bavaria, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, to line up along the Isar for the most spectacular costume parade in the world. This costume parade with 9,000 participants and 7 kilometers in length is one of the highlights of the Oktoberfest. September 16, 2017

Earlier it was only a pleasure for the residents of the district – getting up early and watching with a coffee to go the hustle and bustle – lures already many international photographers. In the early morning you can view the Trachtler up close, talk and enjoy an atmosphere that exists nowhere else.
So if you want to see this colorful spectacle in advance (before 10 clock is the official costume parade begins), then you should come around 8 am in the Widenmeyerstraße near Maximilianstraße … see you!
